Magnitude 6.2 earthquake jolts Visayas

DEVELOPING: A magnitude 6.2 earthquake has jolted parts of the Visayas at 1:37 pm on Tuesday, April 23.

The epicentre of the earthquake was located in Eastern Samar, according to the latest bulletin of the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs), warning aftershocks.

Intensity V was felt in Tacloban City, Leyte, and in Catbalogan City, Samar.

The earthquake that hit Visayas came just a day after the magnitude 6.1 that struck parts of Luzon.
