Two men arrested for having drugs in Ras Al Khaimah were caught taking drugs inside the toilet at the police station.
Police were questioning the two from another Gulf country for possessing narcotics when they asked to go to the toilet, according to local newspapers.
When they were late, police barged into the toilet and found that the two were having drug injections, they said.
The two traded charges that the needle belonged to the other while one said it was the first time he took drugs and asked for mercy on the grounds he has a family.
Newspapers said one defendant had been arrested before and sent to a rehabilitation centre for treatment.
At the end of hearings, the judge decided to adjourn the session to next week and ordered the defendants remain in custody.
