The Abu Dhabi Police managed to stop an Asian man from taking his own life when he climbed up a telecommunications tower and attempted to jump off it on Thursday, August 30.
Brigadier General Musallam Mohammed al-Amiri, director of the Directorate of External Areas Police, said that the man threatened to throw himself down the tower because of personal problems but he eventually listened to the negotiation of the rescue team.
The rescue team, composed of the police, civil defense and paramedics, was able to convince the man to realize the importance of his life.
It was not disclosed how the man reached the top of the tower.
