Impersonator of Kim Jong Un spotted in Singapore

While the summit between U.S. President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, initially scheduled on June 12, remains an uncertainty, many Singaporeans got the shock of their lives when they spotted a familiar figure near the Marina Bay Sands hotel on Sunday.

It was after a second glance or two when they realized that the man donning black attire and black hair was not North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, but just his impersonator.

An Indian national named Sagar Admuthe was one of the victims of Kim Jong Un’s doppelganger.

“It looked like the real Kim Jong Un, but later, I realized it’s not the real one. When you see him, it’s very difficult to make out,” Admuthe said.

The impersonator, an Australian-Chinese who goes by the name of Howard X, said he was at the venue to wish success for a summit between the two leaders.

“Hey Donald, I’m already in Singapore, waiting for you to turn up,” Howard X said.

Howard X gamely posed for some selfies with locals and tourists. In one of the photos, Howard X is seen holding up a durian, Davao City’s signature fruit, at the Esplanade in Singapore.
