An Arab girl died after falling from the 5th floor of an apartment her family stays in at the Al Jurf area in Ajman.
The victim was identified as Al Anood. E, a grade five student at Sheikha bint Saeed Elementary School, reported Khaleej Times.
Authorities who responded to the scene said the girl was left alone in their apartment when the incident happened, as her family left to do some shopping.
Lt. Col Yahya Al Matroushi, Director of Al Hamaidiya police station, said the station immediately deployed a team of police patrol, CID officers, forensic experts, and ambulance after they received the call about the incident on Tuesday evening.
The girl was rushed to a hospital where she succumbed from injuries on her skull.
Authorities are still investigating the incident although no foul play is suspected, as there were no other fingerprints in the balcony except that of the victim.
Al Matroushi reminded other families to avoid leaving their children alone at home to avoid similar incidents.
