Former senator Antonio Trillanes IV claimed that Sen. Bong Go could be the next subject of an arrest warrant from the International Criminal Court in connection with the Duterte administration’s anti-drug campaign.
In an interview, Trillanes said he received information that an arrest warrant may eventually be issued against Go, whom he described as an alleged co-conspirator of former president Rodrigo Duterte in cases involving crimes against humanity, murder, and attempted murder.
“Ang susunod po ay Senator Bong Go… pero para maliwanag baka buwan pa ang bibilangin nito,” Trillanes said.
While he acknowledged uncertainty over the timeline, Trillanes said he believes an ICC warrant against Go would eventually be issued.
Trillanes alleged that Go was included in reports submitted to the ICC for supposedly acting as the distributor of rewards for killings during the height of the drug war while allegedly serving as head of a “Special Operations Group” under Duterte’s purported “National Death Squad.”
“Ito yung pagbabayad o pagiging accountable… noong namamayagpag sila, wala silang pakialam sa buhay ng Pilipino. Ito na, singilan na ito,” he added.
Trillanes also claimed that former Philippine National Police chief Oscar Albayalde and Sen. Bato dela Rosa may also face possible ICC warrants.
As of posting, Go has yet to issue a statement on the allegation.
