Kuwait to conduct monthly emergency siren tests starting January 19

Kuwait will begin regular testing of its emergency warning sirens, the Ministry of Interior announced on Wednesday.

The first test is scheduled for Monday, January 19, at 10 a.m. Authorities stressed that the activity is part of routine safety procedures and does not indicate any immediate threat.

According to the ministry, siren tests will take place on the first Monday of every month at 10 a.m. to ensure the system remains fully operational.

The announcement comes amid heightened regional tensions. Earlier in 2025, Kuwait’s Ministry of Finance revealed that shelters had been established within the ministries complex. These facilities can reportedly accommodate up to 900 people, following U.S. strikes on Iran’s nuclear sites.
