The Philippine government praised the UAE for making history this July 20, 2020 with the successful launch of the Hope Probe.
The Department of Foreign Affairs cited the country’s humble beginnings from being known as a country for pearl-diving towards reaching its dreams and goals of traversing space nearly five decades later. It also praised the country for promoting the role of women in its ranks as seen among those responsible for the Emirates Mars Mission.
“From reaching for pearls in the deep ocean to reaching for the starry gems in the sky up high— Congratulations, UAE, for another historic milestone in its space probe launch! UAE’s Mars Hope Probe is a great achievement for Arab women in the sciences! Mabrouk!,” said the DFA in its statement on Twitter.

Philippine Ambassador to the UAE, H.E. Amb. Hjayceelyn Quintana stated that this is the country’s contribution for humanity as seen in their drive to achieve greatness powered by the spirit of cooperation, collaboration, and inclusivity.
“The Filipinos are rooting for UAE as they embark on this journey of hope that shows what their collective aspirations can achieve, not only for themselves but also for the whole of humanity. Mabuhay ang UAE!,” said Amb. Quintana.
