Bobi, the legendary Rafeiro do Alentejo, who held the Guinness World Record as the world’s oldest dog, has sadly passed away at the remarkable age of 31 years and 165 days. His peaceful departure occurred at his home in Portugal last Saturday, marking the end of an extraordinary canine journey.

The news of Bobi’s passing was shared on social media by Dr. Karen Becker, a veterinarian who had the privilege of meeting Bobi on several occasions. In her tribute, she expressed the sentiment of all who knew him, stating, “Despite outliving every dog in history, his 11,478 days on earth would never be enough for those who loved him.”

Bobi’s historic achievement was officially recognized in February when he became the world’s oldest living dog, breaking a century-old record. The previous record-holder, Bluey from Australia, lived to the age of 29 years and five months before passing away in 1939.
