An overseas Filipino worker from Kuwait who recently returned from Kuwait narrated the physical abuse she suffered in the hands of her female employer.
OFW Ruby Caduyag, who worked as a domestic helper, told GMA News that her employer starved her and often laid her hands on her.

“Walang kain ‘dun sa kuwarto, walang tubig. Kahapon pag-uwi ko pa, inano ‘yung buhok ko at t’saka dinuraan ‘yung mukha ko,” Caduyag said in the report.
She added that her employer, who speaks Arabic, would get mad at her when she would not understand her instructions.
“Andami niyang sinabi sa akin. Grabe ‘yung takot ko nanginginig ako doon. Pinalo [ako] ng upuan na plastic doon sa kuwarto. Kung hindi dumating ‘yung anak, baka sobra pa dito ‘yung ginawa,” the OFW said.
Caduyag worked in Kuwait for a year and two months and she was able to return to the Philippines through the help of her employer’s child.
It’s a good thing that the employer’s child is a kindhearted one who even helped the OFW go back to the Philippines. Bless her heart.
