His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, visited to review the progress of the Bluewaters Island, a new man-made island right across from Jumeirah beach which was constructed at the cost of Dh8 billion.
“I visited the Bluewaters project – developed by Meraas – which comprises residential units, hotels, and the Ain Dubai tourist hotspot. Our national projects reflect our vision to provide the highest level of excellence across various sectors… The UAE will always be a land of happiness and hope for our people and our visitors. We support innovation and excellence in projects in our quest to become ‘Number One’. My message to Emirati youth… Never settle for anything less than the best,” HH Sheikh Mohammed said.

The man-made island is expected to finish construction this year.
It will feature the world’s tallest observation wheel, called Ain Dubai, which stands at 210 meters tall, and over 200 retail options and restaurants, as well as residential and entertainment zones.
The island will be connected to Sheikh Zayed Road by a dedicated bridge, work on which is already complete.
