Taiwan apologizes over death of 3 OFWs in bridge collapsed

The Taiwan International Ports Corporation has apologized over the death of three Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) in a collapsed bridge accident last October 1.

“We are very sorry for your lost, it won’t be easy,” the Taiwan official said.

The Manila Economic and Cultural Office (MECO) and the family of the dead OFWs held a memorial service for the three OFWs.

One of the victims, George Impang will be brought home on October 10.

Impang’s body was recovered after a suspension bridge collapsed leaving at least five dead, three of them were Filipino fishermen.

Impang’s wife, Mary Ann, also went to Taiwan to personally see what happened to her husband in the tragic accident.

“Parang nakahinga na ako kahit papano, hindi kagaya na hindi pa clear sa akin, hindi ako makatulog, hindi ako makakain, wala pa talaga tulala pa ako,” she told ABS-CBN News.

Most of the families of the victims said that it will be difficult to explain the death of the three OFWs to their relatives and children.
