The Pink Battle

The display of pink ribbons is hard to miss every October as the world joins all women from all walks of life in their pitched battle against breast cancer.

Breast cancer remains the most common cancer in women worldwide, with nearly 1.7 million new cases diagnosed in 2012, according to the World Cancer Research Fund International.

While many people believe that getting cancer is purely down to genetics, medical experts estimate that more than 4 in 10 cancer cases are triggered by ‘unhealthy lifestyle’. This means that awareness coupled with early detection is the key to battle out cancer.

One such goal to spread awareness about breast cancer is taken up by BinSina, one of the premier pharmacies in the UAE through its Breast Cancer Awareness campaign. The month-long campaign of BinSina highlighted the causes, symptoms, risk factors, regular screening methods and emphasized on the need for early detection to effectively beat the devastating disease.

By organizing awareness campaigns as such, BinSina aims to promote longevity in the UAE. This month, BinSina spotlights diabetes awareness. Their pharmacies have stepped up by giving their customers free advice about healthy lifestyle to beat the deadly disease.
