Cebu Pacific launches Shanghai-Cebu direct flights

Cebu Pacific, the biggest and most budget-friendly flight carrier in the Philippines, have recently expanded their operations at the heart of Cebu with the launch of their nonstop Shanghai-Cebu flights.

There will be six flights per week as the flight carrier aims to be the linkage between East Asia and the Queen City of the South.

“Today we are witnessing the creation of an air bridge that will connect the Philippines and China more closely. This added air connectivity will further increase the people-to-people exchanges which in turn promotes better understanding between our cultures,” said Consul General Wilfredo Cuyugan from the Philippine Consulate in Shanghai.

Tourism Attache Ireneo Reyes of the Philippine Department of Tourism in Shanghai adds that this will enable more visitors to enjoy the natural wonders of the Philippines: “As we continue to invite our friends from China to showcase to them the natural attractions and beauty of the Philippines, we are also embarking on a conservation program with Cebu Pacific to further preserve our environment and for more people to enjoy the Philippines’ natural wonders.”

Cebu Pacific’s General Manager for the Greater China Operations Joe Kwok assures that the direct flights from Shanghai to Cebu will bolster the image of the Queen City of the South as not only the getaway to the some of the world’s best beaches, but as a destination for international trade and tourism. “Cebu is a choice of destination for both trade and tourism. It is centrally located in the heart of the Philippines and the gateway to other best islands such as Palawan, Bohol, and Boracay. Also, it is a renowned economic export zone and a preferred ESL (English as Second Language) destination,” shares Kwok.
