DFA to OFWs in Saudi: Stay alert

The Department of Foreign Affairs has asked the more than two million Filipino workers in Saudi Arabia to exercise further caution and be alert following the drone bombings on Saudi Aramco’s two major facilities Sunday.
“Sa ating mga kababayan sa Kingdom Saudi Arabia, ibayong pag-iingat at pagmamatyag ang kinakailangan,” DFA Undersecretary for Migrant Workers’ Affairs Sarah Arriola said in her post in Facebook.
“Keep safe. You are in our prayers.???,” she added.


There are around 2.3 million Filipino workers in Saudi Arabia, many of them are employed in Saudi Aramco.

The Philippine Embassy in Riyadh released an advisory on its website and Facebook account saying they have been informed about the attacks in Abqaiq and Khurais.

“The overall situation in the aforementioned areas and other parts of the Kingdom is normal; hence, the Filipino community is advised to remain calm but vigilant,” the Embassy said.

“The Embassy is closely monitoring the situation and coordinating with the concerned authorities to ensure the safety and security of all Filipinos in Saudi Arabia. The Embassy is also in close touch with the Filipino community and shall provide further advisories as necessary,” the Embassy added
