PDEA killed “biggest party drug supplier” in Metro Manila

The biggest party drug supplier in Metro Manila was killed by elements of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) during a buy-bust operation in Sta. Cruz, Manila on late Monday, a local radio report told.

PDEA-National Capital Region Director Joel Plaza said that the agency conducted a buy-bust operation against Steve John Pasion at a parking lot of a condominium in Manila.

Plaza said that part of the modus operandi of the suspect was to use the condominium unit as storage or warehouse for the illegal party drugs.

Pasion resisted arrest fleeing on board a white SUV, but was cornered by PDEA agents. The suspect then tried to grab the gun of one of the agents before reaching for his own gun inside the getaway vehicle, forcing other PDEA agents to open fire at the suspect.

The suspect was pronounced dead on arrival by attending physicians.

PDEA agents was able to recover some 50grams of shabu and 15 tablets of ecstacy worth P300,000.

During the search inside the suspect’s condo unit, PDEA agents were able to recover a kilo of shabu worth P6 million and liquid ecstacy worth P75,000.

Authorities also arrested Pasion’s girlfriend, Sophie Mercado, who is facing charges for violation of Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act.
