Manhunt underway for three suspects in murder, skinning of girl in Cebu

The police are now on the hunt for the three suspects in the slay of a 17-year-old Grade 9 student in Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu.

The body of the victim, identified as Christine Silawan, a Grade 9 student, was discovered in a vacant lot in Barangay Bangkal, with her face skinned to the bone and her undergarments missing.

Witnesses said that Silawan was last seen with the three men and authorities are now tracing their whereabouts.

Local reports also said that the three men might be under the influence of illegal drugs due to the brutality of the crime.

Senior Supt. Lemuel Obon, chief of the Lapu-Lapu City Police Office, said the victim’s body will be examined to find out if the girl was raped.

According to police report, Silawan was missing the night before after going to church, where she was part of the ministry.

The mother’s victim was only able to identify her daughter through the shirt she was wearing.

Three men, who was not identified, are now being considered as the suspects to the gruesome killing.
