Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio over the weekend said that she is ending the word war against the opposition members, including Vice President Leni Robredo, after getting a reprimand from her mother.

It will be recalled that Inday Sara, who is also the campaign manager for Hugpong ng Pagbabago, criticized Robredo over “honesty issue” on some of administration’s senatorial candidates in the upcoming 2019 election.

The president’s daughter even tagged Robredo as a “fake VP,” who is displaying “fake courage.”

The younger Duterte also challenged Otso Derecho bets to an “8 versus 1 debate” after the latter continuously taunted administration candidates for refusing to engage them.

On Sunday, Inday revealed that her mom, Elizabeth Zimmerman, told her “not to bully the opposition and to always be kind first before anything else.”

“(She told me to) shut it down,” Duterte explained. “My mother said, everyone knows I’m the daughter of Rodrigo [Duterte] but they should also know I’m a daughter of Elizabeth. “

Otso Diretso candidate is not falling for Duterte’s statement, accusing the president’s daughter of creating “unnecessary political noise” to make herself relevant ahead of the 2022 presidential elections.

Inday Sara, who is expected to be one of the candidates to replace her father, has been going around the country as she heads the campaign of her regional slate Hugpong ng Pagbabago.

She was also more visible and answering issues on behalf of the administration’s candidates, who has been mum on contentious issues.
