Remains of OFW who died, kept in hospital freezer to be repatriated in PH

The overseas Filipino worker (OFW) in Saudi Arabia who died in October 2018 and has been kept in a hospital freezer will finally be repatriated to the Philippines as Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go vowed to assist the family with the repatriation of the remains.

Ram Corpuz, the son of the departed OFW, asked for help in a radio interview to repatriate his mother to the Philippines so that she can be given a proper burial.

Go said, “Sa lalong madaling panahon po, tutulungan natin. Kunin ko lang po ang mga detalye at sa abot ng aming makakaya (gagawin namin para) mapauwi natin kaagad dito.”

The body of the OFW will finally be put to its final resting place as per the senatorial candidate and former special assistant to the president.

Go said the proposed department, would take care of all matters relating to OFWs, including the task of sending a member of family abroad to assist OFWs who fell ill or who were hospitalized due to accidents.

Moreover, Go is pushing for the creation of an OFW department. He said: “Yan ang plano ko pong gawin pagdating ng panahon, isusulong ko itong Department of OFW para nakatutok lang po sa mga OFW natin.”

“Nagkasakit yung ilan, ipinagamot natin. Yung recruiter, two months nating hinanap—nagtago—hanggang finally nahuli. So, nakakulong na po ngayon yung recruiter,” Go added.
