An overseas Filipina worker (OFW) in Dubai received Dh70,000 (Php1 million) after being hailed as the UAE Best Nanny Award 2018.
OFW Rosie Vargas Villa was honored for her selfless service for her wards in the UAE for over a decade now.
The organizers of the award, Rise, surprised Villa in her employer’s residence where they revealed that she was selected as the “best nanny of the year”.
“It is amazing, all these things happen, it’s just like a miracle,” an emotional villa said.
Villa said she dedicates her recognition to her father in the Philippines who is sick. The OFW sends more than half of her salary back to her family to help them with their expenses.
Villa was selected among the shortlisted candidates for the UAE Best Nanny Award 2018.
“Hard work, affection and everything nice out of the collection. These make this year’s UAE’s Best Nanny: Rosie Villa,” Rise said in a Facebook post.
