Graduating UST student dies 1 month after Grab tragedy

It is a common Filipino belief that graduating students should be extra careful as they may tend to be closer to danger prior to graduation. In the case of 20 year old UST Mechanical Engineering student Marko de Guzman, there might be a kernel of truth in it.

According to reports, Marko was onboard a Grab vehicle which was hit by another vehicle.

It then ricocheted onto a scaffolding. The collision rendered serious injuries to Marko’s brain and confined him to the hospital for, a month-long battle that Marko fought.

Using the hashtag #MightyMarko, her aunt Isabe  Ocliasa recounted that Marko waited and fought until he was ready to let go.

Now, that battle is over. Isabe Ocliasa, Marko’s auntie is quoted as saying, “Now, he is free of the pain. He sees his family strong and vowing to take care of his Nanay Belot, sister Erika and Ninang Lourdes while he’s away,”

No details of internment were mentioned in the post.
