A four-year-old boy died mid-air to India forcing the pilot to make an emergency landing in Abu Dhabi on Monday, November 12.
The boy, together with his family, were on their way home to India onboard an Oman Airways flight after performing Umrah in Saudi Arabia. However, while on flight, the boy experienced seizures due to an epilepsy-related illness.
The boy tragically died sitting on his mother’s arms while the pilot decided to make an emergency landing at Abu Dhabi Airport.
Through the help of the Indian embassy in the UAE, the boy’s father disembarked the plane upon landing together with his son’s remains and waited until they were repatriated back to India the next day, November 13.
The boy’s remains were immediately buried that same afternoon in his hometown in Kannur in India.
