After the heavy rains that lashed out the UAE on November 11, Sunday, the National Center of Meteorology (NCM) is monitoring heavy rains formed over the Arabian Gulf.

NCM said it is expecting the rainfall to continue across the country until Tuesday, November 13.

As per the weather bureau, a bad weather condition is currently being monitored over Das Island.

On Sunday, November 11, local authorities under the UAE Ministry of Interior alerted residents to stay indoors due to the bad weather.

Abu Dhabi Police (ADP) issued a warning message to the residents via a warning alert on mobile phones.

The volume of rain that lashed out the country last night brought in 49.4mm or equivalent to eight months’ worth of rain in just one hour.

It began at about 6p.m. in Abu Dhabi with lightning and strong winds.

“Due to bad weather, please stay indoors and (do) not go out,” as per the warning message from ADP.

A netizen took a photo of a tree that feel down at the Abu Dhabi Corniche due to the strong winds.

Other Abu Dhabi netizens also took photos of the message that they received from the Abu Dhabi Police.

Rain in the UAE is a rare weather condition which occurs only a few times per year, and usually takes place during changes in the season.
