Abu Dhabi Corniche Park has been named as the best public park in the world by the United Kingdom-based Green Flag Organization.

The park was chosen as the world’s best public park due to the public’s good reviews in its services, facilities, and serene environment as well as the public health, safety and security standards in place.

Twelve countries from three continents and more than 100 qualified sites with stylish quality parks outside the UK have competed for the award.

Meanwhile, the Abu Dhabi Municipality, through its press release, was thrilled for the achievements made by Abu Dhabi Emirate at all levels.

It noted that the recent award is a clear manifestation of the sound planning and the unlimited support of our leaders for nurturing better recreational facilities and bringing parks at par with the international standards.

The Green Flag is an international award that aims to direct and encourage park management processes to bring high quality standards of services for all community members. They are also with the efforts of advocating for a greener environment.

Eight key standards are considered to obtain the Green Flag Award: visitors reception, health facility, public hygiene & maintenance, sustainability, conservation of nature & tradition, social interaction, marketing and management.
