Heavy rains lead to flooding in parts of UAE

The heavy rain in the UAE on Tuesday, October 16, has resulted in flooding in some areas in the country.

A video uploaded by Storm Center shows a vehicle along Wadi Qur road reversing, upon realizing that the flood is too high to continue traversing the road.

The video also shows several vehicles stranded.


The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) also uploaded several videos of flooding in different areas in the country.


On Tuesday, NCM reported that the following areas experienced moderate or heavy rains:

  • Hafeet Mountains
  • Al Heyar, Khatam Al Shaklah, and Al Dahir
  • Fujairah and Dubai International airports
  • Masfout in Ajman
  • Hatta in Dubai
  • Al Manaie in Ras Al Khaimah
  • Swiehan
  • Al Bithnah in Fujairah
  • Wadi Al Qor and Wadi Al Ajeeli in Ras Al Khaimah

Rains are expected to continue in different parts of the country while other areas will experience a partly cloudy to cloudy weather.

Humidity is expected to increase at night and early morning especially in some coastal areas. Light to moderate winds will also be experienced.
