A Dubai court heard on Monday the case of a 38-year-old Filipino administrator who was accused of breaching the privacy of his flatmate by secretly filming her naked.
The complainant, a 24-year-old Filipina, said that she was informed by a friend that the suspect had taken an explicit video of her when the two of them shared a flat in November, reported Khaleej Times.
She did not believe it at first until her friend showed her the 10-second video taken by the defendant and sent via WhatsApp.
The video showed her changing her clothes.
She shared a room with the defendant which had a wooden divider. She suspects that the defendant sneaked his phone under the divider and filmed her.
She immediately filed a case on May 28 at the Jebel Ali Police Station. The defendant pleaded guilty at the Dubai Court of Instance, and prosecutors charged him with molestation and breaching the woman’s modesty and privacy.
