It’s the quickest way to deal with paperworks when you sell a car.
Abu Dhabi Police has unveiled a paperless system that will enable motorists to instantly transfer vehicle ownership starting September 1.
In a statement released on Instagram, the police force said that the smart service system on their website is part of its efforts to simplify procedures for customers without having the need to go through the usual lengthy process.
Major General Maktoum Ali Al Sharifi, Director General of Abu Dhabi Police, Head of the Government Services Development Team, promised that the smart service system will be easier and more accessible to everyone.
Explaining how the system works, Colonel Saif Al Zaabi, Director of Vehicle Licensing Department at the Directorate of Licensing of Drivers and Mechanics, said that a vehicle owner must first provide his mobile number, where a code will be forwarded by the licensing authority to validate the request.
Traffic fines, that can also be paid through the mobile app, recorded under the name of the vehicle owner must be paid in order to proceed through the rest of the process.
