It’s final: SC upholds constitutionality of De Lima’s arrest

“No further pleadings will be entertained.”

This was the final decision of the Supreme Court on the constitutionality of the arrest of Sen. Leila de Lima over drug charges, affirming its earlier decision.

Public Information Office released Tuesday the one-page en banc notice of a court resolution dated April 17 that denied with finality her motion for reconsideration.

“No substantial arguments were presented to warrant the reversal of the questioned decision,” the notice read.

The lady senator was arrested and detained at the Philippine National Police Custodial Center in Camp Crame in February last year over allegations that she was involved in receiving drug payoffs from drug lords and syndicates when she was sitting as justice secretary.
