BREAKING: Plane crash ‘kills 200 people’ in Algeria

A plane crash in Algeria has left over 200 people dead. Algerian authorities have yet to release an official statement.

There are no reported survivors, as of press time.

According to reports from local media, the military aircraft crashed at around 8 am local time.

It went down a short distance from an airport in Boufarik, a town just 200 miles away from the country’s capital.

The plane had been transporting troops and equipment prior to the accident.

Witnesses reported seeing black smoke which seemed to come near the airport’s runway.

Local reports show 14 ambulances and ten fire engines were quickly dispatched for rescue operations.

All roads in the area were immediately closed following the crash.
