OFW helps compatriot suffering from stroke connect with family

A Filipino domestic worker in Kuwait is hoping to repatriate a fellow overseas Filipino worker (OFW) who suffered from stroke with her family in the Philippines.

Through a Facebook post, a certain OFW with Facebook handle name Isturis Delacruz Robertocuadrante Yheng shared the story of fellow Filipino named Helen Bernal Fernandez, 45, who was confined at Al Adan Hospital after suffering from stroke.

Yheng said that she only met Fernandez when her employer was rushed to the same hospital. Her employer and Fernandez were lying in beds next to each other that was why she was able to talk to the latter for a moment.

According to Yheng, she felt pity for Fernandez as no one was taking care of her fellow OFW.

Yheng also asked for help from the Philippine Embassy to bring Fernandes home to her family.

Yheng also asked help from her fellow netizens to spread her story online so that Fernandez’ family in the Philippines will know her condition.

As of press time, Yheng’s post has garnered more than 12,000 shares on Facebook.
