2 suspects charged for drug deals with Espinosa, Lim killed

Two of the suspects accused of drug-related activities with Kerwin Espinosa and Peter Lim were killed in two separate locations.

Albuera police chief Senior Inspector Ronald Espina told Rappler that Max Miro was killed by the police while servicing a police warrant after he fought back with the authorities in Ormoc City.

Meanwhile, another charged drug suspect, Nelson ‘Jun’ Pepito, was shot dead by an unidentified riding-in-tandem shooters in Albuera, Leyte on December 1, 2017.

The two, alongside alleged high-profile drug lords Espinosa and Lim, were among the individuals charged for violating Section 26(b) of the Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. According to the complaint submitted by the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group-Major Crimes Investigation Unit (CIDG-MICU), the individuals were involved in selling, trading, and delivering of drugs.

After Espinosa, Lim, and other co-accused were cleared of the charges, the Department of Justice (DOJ) created a new panel to review the decision and another investigation was set to be conducted.

They are expected to appear at the DOJ on April 12.
