Sharjah and Ras Al Khaimah (RAK) Police urged the motorists to avail of the 50% discount on traffic fines before the 90-day grace period ends on February 28, 2018.
Sharjah Police reminded traffic violators via Twitter that the offer will not be extended.
Meanwhile, motorists in Abu Dhabi were given until March 1 to settle their penalties.
Motorists were provided an easier means to pay their fines through the Ministry of Interior’s (MOI) smart application. The motorists only need to provide their license number and the discount will automatically be shown.
Residents can also pay at all traffic and licensing service centers, police stations, and technical inspection stations.
The initiative was ordered by His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, during the 47th UAE National Day on December 1 in line with the celebration of the Year of Giving.
