MIAA to move PAL, CEB domestic flights to NAIA Terminal 2

Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) General Manager Eddie V. Monreal confirmed embarking on a P600 million renovation of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 2 to accommodate Philippine Airlines (PAL) and Cebu Pacific for domestic flights.

Monreal said the NAIA Terminal 1 and 3 will be purely for international flights; while the NAIA Terminal 2 and 4 will be designated for domestic flights.

The rehabilitation will be funded by MIAA and will be completed in 18 months starting from the awarding of contract.

The Terminal 2 is presumed to accommodate 12 million passengers annually.

Meanwhile, PAL President Jaime J. Bautista welcomed the move saying, “It’s more favorable operating only in two terminals” if the MIAA plan pushed through.

At present, PAL is the only airline that operates in three terminals: T1 for Middle East and arrival from the United States, T2 for domestic and international flights, and T3 for domestic flights alone.
