The Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) announced that highly-skilled Filipinos can now easily secure visa under China’s new visa program that targets “scientists, science and technology students, international entrepreneurs, and other highly-skilled talents”.
According to the advisory released by POEA, China urgently needs top talents to bolster the “economic and social development of China.”
The China R Visa is a multiple entry visa valid for five to 10 years. Holders of this visa can stay in the China up to 180 days for each entry. The application for the visa can be done online and is free of charge.
“Shanghai’s Municipal Human Resources and Social Security Bureau assess the visa applicant based on a grading and classification for [highly] skilled foreign talents,” the POEA advisory reads.
“Qualified applicants are issued a confirmation letter or certification within five days of submission online of the application form. The said confirmation letter or certification allows qualified applicants and members of their families to apply for ‘R’ Visa at Chinese Embassies or Consulates in their respective home countries,” the advisory adds.
