MIAA official: Be responsible when posting airport complaints online

The General Manager of the Manila International Airport Authority reminded passengers to be careful before posting airport complaints online.

“Kung mag-popost ho tayo, make it a responsible post. Kailangan may pinagbabasehan, o kaya may pinaghuhugutan, meaning totoo at validated,” Ed Monreal told reporters in a Facebook live video.

Monreal decided to talk about the issue following the public Facebook post of a certain netizen about an alleged box pilferage at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport.

Airport officials found out that one of the luggage complained by a netizen to have been pilfered was already open when it arrived in the Philippines, most likely due to its weight.

The two senior citizens also said that they did not authorize Cabalquinto to post photos of their boxes online.

“The greater extent is sa ating bansa, gusto nating baguhin ang ating bansa, gusto nating baguhin ang imahe ng Pilipinas for us to be competitive, magtulong-tulong tayo. Kung mali, ‘wag na nating patulan. Kung walang pinagabasehan, ‘wag na nating patulan,” Monreal added in the video.

These past few weeks, many overseas Filipino workers have posted their complaints on social media about their boxes getting pilfered.

One of which that got the most attention is the of Jovenil Dela Cruz who lost P82,000 worth of belongings at the Clark International Airport after six Miascor employees pilfered his balikbayan box.
