BOC expects efficient public service from 31 newly-hired personnel

Bureau of Customs (BOC) Commissioner Isidro Lapeña said on Monday Flag Ceremony, January 22, 2018, that he is expecting the 31 newly-hired personnel to better serve the public and improve their process time.

Custom Commissioner Lapeña led the oath-taking of the seven lawyers and 24 Customs operation officers (COO I) who passed the hiring process of the Bureau’s Customs Personnel Selection Board (CPSB), reported Philippine News Agency.

The BOC employed new personnel due to their limited manpower and to reduce the workload, and promote efficiency among its employees.

According to Lapeña, the BOC will prioritize filling up the vacant plantilla positions by the contractual employees who have been long working in the agency.

However, the Commissioner noted that despite their dire need for new employees, applicants must still be qualified for the position and pass the CPSB selection.

Meanwhile, he said that he expects the new employees to do the service the public is expecting from them and to finish all the tasks to improve their process time.
