OFW in UAE surprises his mother on her 86th birthday

An Abu Dhabi-based overseas Filipino worker (OFW) surprised his mother on her birthday with a bouquet of red roses, birthday card, and balloons delivered to her doorstep.

Her mother Elizabeth was sitting on the sofa when a girl walked right through the door and handed her the gifts. When the 86-year old mum asked where it came from, her face broke into a big smile and tears began to run down her face.

She read the card aloud while in tears.

Joke!

I love you, Ma! Kapit lang makakaraos din tayo! Happy Birthday, Inday.”

Elizabeth thanked her son, saying:

“Maraming, maraming salamat.

Mahal na mahal kita,” his mother said.

Afterwards, she blew the birthday candles and had pictures taken with her family.

Elizabeth has 8 children whom she had successfully raised alone.

In 2003, Allan landed a job overseas and that was when he started to pay his mother’s sacrifices back by providing for their family’s needs.

Now, Allan works as a chef in Abu Dhabi and only goes home every two years for a short vacation.
