Filipina caregiver tops special teachers board exam in Middle East

A Filipina caregiver has topped the Special Professional Licensure Examination (SPLE) for Professional Teachers – Elementary category in the Middle East given last Sept. 2.

Devy Anna Exiomo was part of only six passers out 179 examinees (passing rate of 3.35% only) who took the SPLE for professional teachers for elementary level in the entire Middle East.

She’s a graduate of Central Institute of Technology in Paniqui, Tarlac.

The Department of Foreign Affairs said the licensure exam is in line with the Philippine Embassy’s reintegration program for overseas Filipino workers who are on five-year contracts as caregivers.

DFA added that the SPLE hopes to provide opportunities for sustainable work for OFWs returnees in line with “Sa ‘Pinas Ikaw ang Ma’am at Sir” reintegration program of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE).
