Thousands of jobs for Filipinos up for grabs in Singapore —PH envoy

Aside from Singapore’s consistent demand for Filipino domestic workers, the country is also looking at Filipinos to fill up job vacancies in the aviation industry and in the healthcare sector, among others.

Philippine ambassador to Singapore Antonio Morales said about 6,000 job opportunities await overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) in the aviation industry alone, such as aircraft and automotive mechanics, ABS-CBN News reported.

He added that nurses and caregivers are in demand due to an increase in Singapore’s ageing population.

The country is also looking for welders and pipefitters to fill job vacancies in the oil and gas sector due to the oil crisis.

Morales said jobseekers interested in applying must go through recruitment agencies accredited by the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) to legally process their documents and applications for work in Singapore.
