September 21 announced as Hijri New Year holiday for UAE public, private sectors

WAM—Both the public and private sectors will observe the first day of Muharram on Thursday, September 21, as a paid holiday to mark the Hijri New Year 1439.

This was announced through a circular issued by H.E. Saqr bin Ghobash Saeed Ghobash, Minister of Human Resources and Emiratization.

Saqr Ghobash extended his sincerest greetings and blessings to President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan; His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai; His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and Their Highnesses Members of the Supreme Council and the Rulers of the Emirates.

He also congratulated the government and people of the UAE as well as expatriates on the glorious occasion and wished further progress, prosperity and glory to the UAE and to Arab and Islamic nations.
