Mayweather beats McGregor via TKO

Floyd Mayweather Jr. lives up to his promise of making up for his questionable fight with Manny Pacquiao as he beat UFC fighter Conor McGregor via technical knockout in the 10th round.

Mayweather backed McGregor onto the ropes with a series of rights and lefts. McGregor’s face was completely bloodied. He was about to fall through the ropes, and the referee stepped in to stop the fight with 1:55 remaining in the round.

He now extends his defeatless record to 50-0 win-loss.

Mayweather was criticized during his fight with Pacquiao for consistently running around the ring, but he did not repeat the same mistake this time.

“I gave the fans what they wanted to see,” he said after the fight. “I told them that I owed them for the Pacquiao fight. I must come straight ahead and give them a show.”

Referee Robert Byrd halted the match midway through the round after the bloodied McGregor stumbles across the ring and into the ropes after 40-year-old Mayweather rained accurate punches.

McGregor is a seasoned mixed martial art fighter, but he had no professional boxing record under his belt.
