The Abu Dhabi Police arrested a 54-year-old Filipino for attempting to rob a money exchange center in the Capital.
In an Instagram post, the Abu Dhabi Police said the Filipino used a stone to break the glass counter at the money exchange shop and tried to attack the on-duty cashier with pepper spray.
Brigadier General Dr Rashid Mohammad Bourshid, Director of Criminal Investigations Department at Abu Dhabi Police, said the authorities were able to nab the suspect before he could execute the crime.
The Filipino, who wore a mask during the crime, confessed to the crime and said he was in need of money.
