A family encountered a flat tire while driving to the airport but a UAE Armed Forces personnel stopped over the highway to help them fix their car and catch their flight to India.
Subash Thangam, his wife and their two children were so thankful to the kind man in uniform, whose name they did not get, because they did not miss their flight and vacation.
The flat tire happened around 4 p.m. Wednesday just 6 to 7 kilometers before the Adnoc pump, Khaleej Times reports.
A worried and confused Thangam could not find a spare tyre and his wife became emotional as their time to get to the airport is ticking. Then a car stopped and the “highway angel” stepped out to calm them down. He then offered his spare tyre but it did not fit with the family’s car.
Thangam then remembered he had another spare tyre but it has no air. The man in uniform filled the tyre with his portable air compressor.
Worry turned into relief as the family resumed their journey a few minutes before 5 p.m. and reached Dubai airport by 6 p.m., one hour before their scheduled flight.
“We say God can’t be everywhere, so he created angels to help those in distress. My angel came in the form of an Armed Forces’ personnel,” Khaleej Times quoted Thangam as saying.
