Duterte shows up in public after 5-day absence

President Rodrigo Duterte appeared in public for the first time after five days of absence when he joined the celebration of Agusan del Norte’s founding anniversary on Saturday, June 17.

Before skipping the Independence Day rites at Rizal Park, the president was last seen on June 11 at the Villamor Air Base in Pasay City at the arrival ceremony for 13 Marines slain in the Marawi City fighting.

Duterte explained he was “extremely tired” on Independence Day, so he had to skip the June 12 celebration.

Malacañang released two photos of the President on June 15, denying rumors that he was sick.

Amid the speculations on Duterte’s health, some lawmakers have called for a full disclosure of his medical condition.

The 72-year-old President revealed in December that he was suffering from Barrett’s Esophagus, Buerger’s Disease, spinal issues, and migraine.
