Gov’t troops arrests suspected Maute bomber

Government troops nabbed a suspected Maute bomber in Cagayan de Oro City Thursday morning.

A team composed of Martial Law Implementing Unit, Cagayan de Oro Police, and the Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit-10 arrested Mohammad Noaim Maute alias “Abu Jadid” at 6:30 am, Brigadier General Gilbert Gabay, spokesperson of martial law implementation unit in Eastern Mindanao, announced.

“Subject is a suspected bomber of the Maute terrorist group. The subject personality is currently undergoing investigation,” Gabay said a statement.

Rappler said Maute was found with a fake Mindanao State University ID.

The report added alias Abu Jadid was among the subjects of Arrest Order No.1 issued “pursuant to martial law” in Mindanao.

The arrest order directs the Armed Forces of the Philippines, Philippine National Police, and National Bureau of Investigation to “arrest, take into custody, [and] conduct/continue [an] an investigation on Maute terrorists.

Earlier, police warned Cagayan de Oro residents on two suspected bombers in the area—Maute and Mohammad Reza Kiram alias “Abdulrahman”.
