The Year of the Rooster: Aasenso ka ba?

Over the next two weeks, millions of people around the world will be engaging themselves in what has oft been described as “riotous revelry” of fireworks celebrating another year.

The 2017 Chinese New Year was marked on January 28, with many festivities beginning as early as a few days earlier. The celebrations will last till the so-called Lantern Festival on Feb. 11.
People born in the Year of the Rooster are said to be brave, trustworthy, responsible and punctual; they are Fire Roosters, the most motivated animal in the Chinese zodiac, always putting their careers first and well suited to becoming a journalist, soldier or surgeon.
The year of the Fire Rooster is a good year for most except for the Rabbit and Dog, according to renowned Filipino Feng Shui master, Aldric Dalumpines.
“When it comes to wealth and money, Ox, Dragon, Sheep, Snake and Pig are the luckiest while Rabbit and Dog are set to suffer the worst fortune,” Dalumpines said, adding that those born under the sign of the Rat, Ox and Dragon will be the healthiest.
Dalumpines said those born in the year of the Rabbit, Dog and Rooster should take extra care of their physical well-being.
“Career-wise, Ox, Sheep, Dragon, Pig, Snake, Tiger and Monkey will make promising progress while Rabbit and Dog might not do very well with their jobs. Finally, there is a great chance that Pig, Rooster, Snake, Ox and Rat will find true romance this year while Dog, Rabbit, Sheep and Horse will suffer from a heartbreak,” Dalumpines said.
Red is the lucky color as it is a positive fire element year, he said. Yellow, gold or brown will be “bad colors” because these represent earth elements. “Fire produces ash equal to earth. Wearing these colors creates too much earth that will imbalance and burden your human life,” Dalumpines said.
