The UAE’s Ministry of Interior has urged the public to remain cautious during extreme weather conditions and heavy rains.
The General Directorate of Civil Defense advised campers to monitor weather forecast alerts before they venture into the wild. Otherwise, they should stay away from valley currents, should not cross water channels and keep children away from valleys and low lands, reported Gulf News.
It also reportedly requested people not to use communications devices, including radios and mobile phones, in the open and mountain areas to be safe from lightning.
People were also advised to follow latest weather alerts from the National Center of Meteorology and Seismology, NCMS, and safety measures and instructions featured on the websites and social media platforms of the Ministry and Abu Dhabi Police, said the news portal.
