DUBAI: Two men have been accused of luring a Filipina jobseeker into their car and raping her before they allegedly assaulted and tasered her.
Asian employee, SF, 32, and unemployed, MM, 30, who are already serving 10 years in jail for trying to rape a Filipina jobseeker, were returned to the Dubai Criminal Court for having raped a Filipina receptionist, JA, 31, three days before, reported Gulf Today.
They kidnapped JA from Al Mankhool around 4pm, shocked her with a cattle prod, punched her, threatened to kill her, raped her in turns and stole her iPhone-6, two bank cards, Dhs100 and a Dhs1,000 gold ring, the report said.
They reportedly sold the iPhone for Dhs1,700 after deceiving a buyer it belonged to MM. They illicitly owned a weapon (the cattle prod). They denied the charges and the case was deferred to October 31 to find them lawyers.
JA resigned from her workplace and placed a jobseeking ad on a classifieds website. Around 2pm on May.23.2015 a man contacted and asked to meet her for an interview inside Burjuman Metro Station at 4pm, said the news portal.
She reportedly waited inside the station. SF contacted her to find him outside. He arrived in a vehicle with MM. She entered the vehicle without looking at its licence number because she was talking to a friend over her mobile.
Both asked her about personal details and claimed they were taking her to a company for the interview. They refueled on the way and drove for another 15 minutes while insisting they were heading to the company, the report pointed out.
MM reportedly jumped to the backseat where she was and touched her leg. When she pushed his hand away, both asked her whether she frequented bars to drink. She denied. Then MM snatched her mobile phone.
She fought back and punched him on the nose. He reportedly pulled out the prod and hit her neck, right and left part of her waist, thighs, right knee, and lower back as she banged the window to draw the attention of motorists.
He overpowered her, stripped her and tried to strangle her with a phone charger cable and raped her after threatening to kill her. She struggled, freed herself and seized the steering wheel but he dragged her back.
SF pulled over at a deserted area and MM started driving. She tried to dress up. SF punched her on the mouth and other parts of her body then hit her several times while threatening to hand her to a gang of fellow rapists, the report said.
He raped her while she knocked on the window to alert other road users. This infuriated him and he tied her arms to her back using his belt and tied her legs with a rope. He forced her to sit on the floor so as not to look outside, according to the Gulf Today report.
SF then drove around until sunset. He later walked out to urinate. She promised to sleep with MM if he unfastened the belt and rope. She then kicked him and fled towards construction workers. Both sped away in fear, said the news portal.
The suspects used deceptive methods when they kidnapped the woman. They were also charged with stealing her iPhone, bank cards, cash and a gold ring, Gulf News quoted prosecutors as saying. The duo also reportedly threatened to kill her if she did not stop resisting and shouting during the sex assault.
The Filipina reportedly testified to prosecutors that someone phoned her for a job interview at 4pm.
“I was waiting at the metro station when one of the suspects called me and told me to wait outside the station as he was about to pick me up. When I walked outside, I received a phone call from the Philippines … I was busy on the phone when I heard someone call my name. Obviously they [suspects] recognized me because I had posted my CV and photo on dubizzle for the purpose of getting hired. When I asked them why we had been driving for 15 minutes, one of them replied that they were taking me to the company. M.M. suddenly moved to the back seat … he groped me and asked if I go clubbing and drink liquor. Then he took away my phone and tried to touch me … I fought with him and punched him. He tasered me several times … he beat me and bit me. I banged the windows to attract pedestrians’ attention to seek help, but I failed. The defendants assaulted me and they took turns raping me,” she claimed to prosecutors.
