Brace for hotter days of up to 49°C

DUBAI: While parts of Oman may experience some rains, the UAE will continue to have hot and possibly hotter days with temperatures of up to 49°C, a weather expert said.
Apparently, low pressures coming from the east of Oman and moving towards its coastal areas are normal during the start of summer, Gulf News reported.

“The center of the depression or low pressure is over the Arabian Sea. The clouds could be seen especially over the coast of Oman. Over the UAE, there are some high and medium clouds moving towards our areas, especially towards the eastern and southern parts, but not as much as that in Oman. The mean low pressure has no effect on UAE’s weather,” said a forecaster at the National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology (NCMS).

“Some towering clouds may form, as usual, resulting in convective clouds over the mountains in the eastern part of the UAE but this is normal for this time of the year and is not related to the [case over the Arabian Sea],” the forecaster added.

The weather expert said internal areas in the UAE will continue to have hotter days of maximum temperatures between 45°C to 48°C or even up to 49°C. Coastal areas will have a maximum of between 39°C and 46°C while mountainous areas will have between 32°C and 37°C.

“For this reason, the temperature is rising and jumping up to 48C to 49C sometimes over internal areas. There will be no significant change in weather over the next few days,” he told Gulf News.
