FAQ: Can I immigrate to Canada as a permanent resident with work?

With the global pandemic rocking communities and their economies, more and more professionals are hoping to get better opportunities in Canada.

With more than 17 years of knowledge and experience, The Visa Center, one of the top immigration firms in Dubai, shares their answer to the Frequently Asked Question of whether individuals can get a permanent resident status with work in Canada.

The answer is—yes. Canada has established a program which enables aspiring migrants to live on a permanent residency status while working, it’s called the Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program (AIPP). This program was created in order to allow Atlantic provincial governments to choose immigrants according to the economic needs of the province. The participating provinces are New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, and Prince Edward Island.

The benefits of this program include free education for children under 18 years old, social security benefit, and free medical insurance.

Launched last 2017, the duration of the program (which was supposed to end on 2019) was extended to December 2021. This extension serves as a great opportunity for professionals qualified under their list of in-demand occupations to migrate to Canada. Among the list of jobs included in this program are: managers, doctors, dentists, architects, and plumbers.

This program requires a minimum IELTS score and low proof of funds. But apart from AIPP, other professionals grab the opportunity offered by other smaller communities such as Ontario, Manitoba, Brandon, Manitoba, Alberta, and British Columbia under the Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot (RNIP). Recently, The Visa Center has assisted an OFW to acquire an online job interview under this program.

If you want to know if you are qualified for this program, you can visit The Visa Center and avail their free assessment and consultation. They have a team of dedicated immigration experts who shares their knowledge free of cost as their means of public service to kabayans.

The Visa Center has been featured previously on The Filipino Times for their successful processing of permanent resident and student visa applications of Filipinos and foreign aspiring migrants to Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.
